Today is a sad day in Orlando Florida, because Mark Wayne has passed away. Mark and Lorna was a lounge act that did justice to any and all lounge acts that ever were. They showcased here in Winter Park at the Red Fox Lounge. The greatest thing about seeing them perform was how enthusiastic and full of pep they were. The flock they lured to their shows was the obscure and refreshing mix of the locals here in Orlando. The 20 something indie hipsters looking for something wild to do, and the mid life “time to slow down” 30 to 40 crowd, and of course, the 50 to 60 true school crowd filled the tiny dim light room each weekend to see and hear Mark and Lorna perform. Weather it was Neil Diamond or Billy Joel, there was always at least one song you could sing a long to, and you were never alone because that was their shtick, to get the crowd involved. I will miss them dearly. At least I was smart enough to take a couple videos and I’d like to share them here. Enjoy this video of my best friend Mark up on stage with a tambourine and Mark on his organ (to the left) and Lorna (the beautiful lady signing.)
Themes of Death
•February 13, 2012 • Leave a CommentWhy is it that most people steer away from wanting to know about the other side of human nature one often refers to as “the dark side?” Is it because of fear, pain, confusion, denial? Either way it’s a mysterious force that either draws one in, or completely repels. This short documentary Suicide Forest explores the dark side of human existence. But is it really so dark? One must accept the truth of being human. We are equally light and dark. Some of us know it, others suppress any notion of it. Which are you?
It’s amazing what getting out of town can do for the soul.
•July 22, 2010 • Leave a CommentI am back as of yesterday from a mind altering vacation. I was gone for 8 glorious days back to the west coast from where I hail. I was so freeking lost and blue before I left and now I feel so clear and content. I think it’s so important to leave your surroundings for a fresh perspective and to do so as much as possible. I went to California and was busy every day of the week seeing my scattered family and friends. My cousin Anna married Henry Thomas, the actor, so we spent a couple days up with them in L.A. and I met some pretty interesting people. They are wonderful people and their daughter is Mickey’s age and they just love playing together. Then I saw my great friend Eric who lives in the Valley and he brought a special feeling of nostalgia back into my heart. He and Mike were best buds and along with my friend Jason, some of the greatest DJ’s and musicians I ever knew. It was important for Mickey to see him and the speech he gave her referencing Mike and past memories, about made me cry. Eric is great person. We then spent time with my grandpa who is a living legend in scuba diving terms and if you look on the international legends of diving, there he is! Laguna Beach was thrilling and breathtaking and the Orange County Fair pig races had me smiling all day. The plane ride was awesome, we sat next to some really great people and the weather out there was incredible. Summer’s now are awesome to look forward too, we will be going back annually. I feel great and have my pride, confidence and sense of fun back. Thank you vacation.
Dear Diary,
•June 21, 2010 • 2 CommentsMust be something in the air. Time to change. Pretty tired once again of feeling like I can predict each moment, each motion. And you know what else? Social networking sites are false and mundane, I see no point. Ironically -what is the point of anything? Well maybe the recent influx of clients on water fasts might hold some insight to my recent, yet habitual lack of interest. Right now, a client I am with is on day 26 of just water. I think it’s extreme, but the search for meaning comes in all forms. All that being said, It’s inspired me to begin my oral herbal cleanse, and just go raw for a few days.
The client I had last week was on his way to a Transcendental Meditation guided water fast that lasts 6 weeks.
Here’s where he is off to:

and squinting has lost it’s appeal,
the blades of grass
will grow over my heart nicknaming it ‘Gangrene’
-and it will be time to say goodbye.
All the hurting stops
and suffered bruises will heal.
Moments will last and ice won’t burn.
Lips will kiss a new part
and flesh will taste everlasting.
When the night sky cradles
and conceals all mistakes,
the first hello won’t ever make me sad again.
My hollowed veins dry
will echo broken chords of screams
from the black ground.
“Empty” is the name they cry
hoping for one last try, to bleed.

•April 13, 2010 • 2 CommentsCasa Marina and other adventures in Jacksonville!
•April 13, 2010 • Leave a CommentI had the BEST mini vacation on a long while. I went to “Springing in the Blues” in Jacksonville, Florida. It’s about a two hour drive north of me and every year they have a pretty established blues festival on the beach. I def. had fun doing that, but I have to say my highlight was going to Casa Marina. This place blew my mind. The old world charm and history of this original 1920′s building really wow’d me. It was swanky and relaxed and totally me. We had a brunch to die for, prawns the size of my hand, crab legs galore and a plethora of everything from traditional breakfast foods to elaborate gourmet dishes like lobster dill salad and paella. I had five plates, yes I did, of this scrumptious buffet and finished with chocolate mouse in a champagne glass. Oh, speaking of champagne, did I mention never ending mimosas? It was glorious. Being on the beach, watching Mickey play in the sand, relaxing by the hotel pool and being in great company made me thankful for the little things in life. The sun, the ocean, good music, good food and good people. What more does anyone need?
Editors Live
•April 9, 2010 • Leave a CommentI went to see the Editors in Washington DC two months ago and it was probably the best show I have ever seen. It was a birthday celebration for us both, and my friend took amazing pictures with her new camera. She and I waited in line for quite awhile to insure that we could get up front (as it was general admission). We ended up exactly in the front row just like we wanted, and were able to get the most out of the experience. We took video and I wanted to post them. At times you hear her and I singing and screaming because we were so excited.
Enjoy!

•April 4, 2010 • 2 CommentsI was up pretty late last night and to my surprise I did not change the channel when this informercial came on. I actually was impressed and thought it was cool and hysterical. Watch the whole thing because it only gets better as it goes on. Wait for the video to get to 3 minutes 1 second, that part almost made me pee my pants. Enjoy! Slap Chop Rap!
